How Can I Help?
Here are a few examples that describe situations I often work with patients on. As you read, see if they sound familiar to you:
Fatigue
Flat out exhausted, that’s how you’d describe yourself. A long, growing list of things you have to do to keep your life afloat and no energy to help manage the unending list. You feel like you’ve got no reserves, not even enough for you to get some help. Even that seems too overwhelming.
Body Pain
You like what you do, you might even love your job, but the long days you spend seated at your desk are really starting to wear you down. First your low back started to hurt. Now your neck does too. Yoga and exercise are things you’ve tried, but they’re just not enough. Headaches and body pain have become a regular part of your life.
Chronic Illness
Because you’re struggling with a chronic illness, like debilitating digestive problems, long-term infection, cancer, or a genetic disorder, you’ve got a treatment plan and maybe even a team of providers. The pain and side effects from medications you’re taking or procedures you’ve had are intense and you want more options for coping with them than what conventional medicine can offer you.
Injury and Accident
Recently you were injured. Maybe it was a car accident. Or maybe it was a sport’s injury. You’re adjusting to the recovery process and following the protocol given to you but despite your best efforts, things are moving slowly and you’ve got pain that just doesn’t seem to be going away. Even worse, you haven’t felt your energy or enthusiasm for life come back.
Trauma
You feel disconnected from yourself and from the people in your life, almost like something inside is broken. Maybe there is a specific cause you can point to, like a traumatic event and maybe not. Maybe it feels more related to toxic stress from systemic forms of violence and oppression. Even though you’ve gotten counseling or thought about therapy, you can’t help feeling like your body is holding onto something that you want to let go of but haven’t been able to.
Surgical Recovery
You needed a surgical procedure that required anesthesia. Maybe it was dental work or perhaps something more serious, like a tumor removal, injury or cesarean. You’re glad you did the procedure, but you’re just not back to “normal.” You’ve had frightening nightmares, have had a sudden change in mood or your body is recovering much more slowly than what you’d hoped for. Either way, you’re feeling strangely disoriented and distressed.
Emotional Well-Being
It’s been months since everything changed. Maybe it was your relationship that ended, or a change in your job, or collective social changes, like the pandemic. Maybe you lost someone you loved. You just haven’t gotten back to feeling “like you.” You’re exhausted when you wake up in the morning, but when you try to get a good night’s rest, you just lay there mulling over all the details of your life. Being around people isn’t comforting, it’s uncomfortable. Deep down inside, you’re suffering.
Women’s Health
You want to care for you body and you know hormonal balance is part of that. Maybe you’re ready to welcome a child into your life, or maybe you’re struggling with menstrual, menopausal issues or transition. One way or another, getting your hormones organized feels necessary but you’re just not sure where to start.

Testimonial
“Kate provides a quality and a depth of care unique amongst acupuncturists. Her touch is incredibly intuitive and her attention is unwavering. She comes to each session curious and excited about working with me instead of at me. Because of this, each session is unique and I am left feeling a part of the process and totally taken care of. “ — ZR
